I want to make sure every seed that I plant will grow something pure. I want the harvest from my life to benefit society.

At this point in my life, seeds that I’m planting are coming in the form of poetry and illustrations (in aggregate, the seeds are books).

This is the end of a poor widow, and almost the beginning (click for page six).

BibleRhymes’ Poor Widow has turned out to be six pages of poetry and illustrations. And unless feedback makes me add more to it, that’s the way it will stay. There will be a little bit of tweaking to finalize the pictures, but pretty much what’s in the Poor Widow section of the BibleRhymes forum is what you’ll see when the book is released.

A couple of the pictures in that section were rough drafts and won’t be in the finished book. And throughout the day I’ll upload previous pictures with the correct poetry included. So as you look through the Poor Widow section of the forum you’ll be able to see how we develop our books at BibleRhymes. From rough draft to finished product, some of the pictures and poetry change in significant ways.

Now it’s on to the next book. Any suggestions for a Bible story?

This book is being developed on request by a young reader. Because she’s too young for a job, she can’t afford an annual ($15) BibleRhymes membership.

Because her parents won’t help her out with this, it made me think there may be a whole lot of parents out there like that. So the online version of this book will be free (including narration, music, a dictionary and whatever animation gets developed as well).

This page shows Jesus preaching on what will be the new page one of the book. It sets the stage for the rest of the story as Jesus warns His company to beware of scribes (often teachers of religious law).

But you don’t need a long introduction for the picture and rhyme, you just need a few minutes to enjoy my work. So get to it!  And then feel free to opine.

During the evening I met a girl who was volunteering and helping kids play games. She hadn’t heard of BibleRhymes before, but after Bible school she went to check out the BibleRhymes website. She sent me a note that said she loved our free games. But she was sad, because she only was able to read the demo versions of our animated books.

This girl is in junior high, isn’t working at a paying job, and her parents don’t support her pursuit of Christianity. This means, even though the membership cost at BibleRhymes is very low, she still couldn’t afford it.

It broke my heart that parents would actually turn down their children who are wanting to read Bible stories and play games that help them learn about something that actually has meaning and true value.

Now after telling me she couldn’t afford a membership, this girl said BibleRhymes should make a story about the poor widow in the Bible (Mark 12, 42).

In response, here are the illustrations for page number one and page number two of BibleRhymes’ Poor Widow. The online version of this book will be a BibleRhymes gift to the world (free).

If my team didn’t need to eat dinner, all of our books would be free. Because we want to continue to build this series, right now, the annual family membership cost for our animated books and games is only $15.

And don’t believe the site.    An update needs to be made to our “Coming Soon” book list. Four books are in the final production stages (music, narration) not including our Poor Widow; Noah, Creation, Galilee Storm and Paul and Silas. Our forum has many of the pictures you’ll see in the upcoming books.
